Tokoname - Manoa Marketplace

With Christmas almost here, we have been crazy busy! Today, we took a trip to Manoa Marketplace because Bumper had to drop off packages at the post office. We decided to see if Hanaki was open for lunch. When we looked in the restaurant, we noticed that the interior looked different. Apparently, Hanaki is now Tokoname Sushi Bar & Restaurant. Tokoname at Manoa Marketplace has been open for about 2 months. They also have a location in Kailua. If you have never been to Tokoname, you should give it a try.

Red House

Red House puts a new spin on Korean cuisine. Many of their dishes have Korean ingredients and are in no way traditional. The best way to describe the food at Red House would be to call it Korean fusion. The decor at Red House is very hip and modern. The white glossy table tops, glossy red bench seats straight out of a 50s diner and the pseudo-brick wall make this restaurant a wonderful place to photograph - another reason why we like coming here. If you are into K-Pop, you will enjoy watching the latest K-Pop videos on their huge white wall.

Choi's Garden

If you don't work or live around Keeaumoku Street, chances are you have never seen or heard of Choi's Garden. This restaurant is not on a main road. In fact, it is sandwiched between apartments and homes! The staff at Choi's is extremely friendly. We frequent this place so often that the servers even know what we will order before we even sit down! Bumper usually gets the BBQ Chicken Plate, but this time she decided to change it up a bit and order Soon Doo Bu (spicy soft tofu soup).

Hinone Mizunone is a home-style Japanese restaurant located across the street from Lobster King. During lunch time, you will find a line outside their door before they are even open for business! Most of their menu items are teishoku style and they offer a weekly special menu. The special the day we went for lunch was Beef Sukiyaki, Bumper's favorite!
